Can you grow figs in USDA hardiness zone 7?

I know that some cultivars take the cold better than others. The cultivar I'm wondering about is "Black Mission". I'm wondering if I can grow it in a large pot in USDA hardiness zone 7. Would I have to insulate it in the winter? If so, what would be the best thing to use for insulation?
